September 30, 2008 - Elizabeth Esty Endorsed by League of Conservation Voters, Citing Strong Environmental Record
Elizabeth Esty received the endorsement of the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters last week in recognition of her strong environmental record, and her commitment to bring new leadership and ideas to Hartford in the key areas of energy and the environment. "I'm proud to have earned the endorsement of the League of Conservation Voters and hope I will have the chance to work on these important issues in Hartford. The current energy crisis only underscores the need for change in how we plan for and approach our energy needs as a state. Connecticut is poised to become a national leader in green technologies, which will provide jobs and boost our economy as well as offer solutions to the climate and environmental issues we face." Esty has been a lifelong advocate on environmental issues, starting as a fifth grader when she cleaned up abandoned tires with her family on the first Earth Day. Elizabeth Esty, a Town Council member in Cheshire, is running for State Representative for the 103rd District representing Wallingford, Cheshire, and Hamden this November.
